Ambassador to Staff
Although we hope that your personal accounts and student experience equip you to answer most questions at times you may get questions that a staff member or department will know more about; for instance, queries about admissions, visas, finance, accommodation. If you feel that the prospect’s question would be better directed at a staff member, provided that your university has set up staff profiles, then you have the ability to redirect the prospect to staff profiles.
Step 1 - Find member of Staff
Go to the main Unibuddy widget on your University website. Click on the 'Staff' tab
Have a think about which department would be best to answer this question, and have a quick look through which staff profiles are available on your platform.
Consider the nature of the enquiry - for instance, if a prospect is asking for guidance around visas, and you have no personal experience of dealing with this, it would be best to redirect them to the international department or admissions team; or if a student is asking about what time they should arrive at their accommodation on their first day, you might redirect them to the pre-registration or welcome team.
Step 2 - Share their profile link
Once you have found the right member of Staff for the prospect’s query make sure you have clicked into their profile. Within their profile you will find a share icon in the top right corner - click here to copy the link to your clipboard
Step 3 - Paste it
You should now be able to paste the link directly into the chat you're having with the prospect. This link will take the prospect directly to the Staff Chat.
Please note: if you are using the UCAS-only version of the platform, you will not be able to link to specific profiles on the Unibuddy on UCAS platform.
